About the Course
Equality and diversity awareness is an important concept in the workplace. Both as an employer or employee, you have a duty to understand what equality and diversity is and how it should be implemented in the workplace.
This course will guide you through the different elements of equality and diversity, looking at the Equality Act in the first half of the course before progressing onto the identification of protected characteristics. You will be able to differentiate between direct and indirect discrimination and understand how to identify harassment and victimisation.
The final section of the course will cover what you should do if you witness or experience any type of discrimination including reporting procedures and best practice. This section will also cover unfair treatment and how inequalities can be addressed.
Who Should Complete this Equality and Diversity Awareness Course?
This course is suitable for learners of all levels, including employers, managers, supervisors, full-time and part-time workers, as everyone in the workplace has a responsibility for supporting equality and diversity. The course has been designed as an introductory level and so no prerequisite training is needed.

Format
Our Equality and Diversity Awareness course is accessed through a dedicated learner portal. Your course material is presented in an interactive and easy to follow presentation enabling you to study at your own pace. The course is divided into simple sections with a short quiz at the end of each to test your knowledge. Once you have progressed through each of the course sections you can complete an end of course quiz which consists of 10 multiple choice questions based on the material that you have studied. In order to pass the course, you will need to answer 8 out of 10 questions successfully (80% pass). Once you have passed the course you can download your course certificate in PDF from your learner area. If you don’t pass the course first time, don’t worry, you can resist the test as many times as required.
Duration and Time Limit
The Equality and Diversity and Awareness course takes approximately 1 hour to complete, although there is no time limit and you can do it in your own time and in stages.
